This card, a slimline diamond Z-card, is made with Stampin' Up! papers - Flowering Fields and Brights Designer Series Paper. The picture above shows the card partially open so you see all the "diamond" shapes. Here's a quick look at how it was made:
Card Base is a slimline (9" x 4" folded size) with the card front folded back at the half-way point to form a Z-fold. The first step was to cover the inside panel and the outside panel with the patterned paper - matted in red.
Then I cut two squares that were 2 3/4" to form the outside diamonds. I
used the plaid paper, matted on red, for the background of these two
diamonds. I fussy cut a set of tulips from the patterned paper and
matted it on white before adding it to the top diamond to create the
focal. I stamped the sentiment (Heartfelt from Crafter's Companion Compendium) on white, matted it on red (both had corners rounded) and added it to the lower diamond.
For the inside, I took a piece of white card stock that was 3" tall and 4" wide. I scored vertical lines at each inch along the width and creased them to create a square pillar shape. I added red paper to the two middle sections - then glued the two ends to the center of the card with ends just shy of the fold and middle sections facing out. This created a pop-up square column that is 3" tall with red mat on the two visible sides. Now I cut a white square that was 2 1/2" and matted it with the red dotted paper. I again fussy cut a tulip group from the paper and matted it on white before adding it to the 2 1/2" diamond. This diamond was glued to the pop-up column AFTER I trimmed the left corner so that the right point just touched the right side when the card was closed (see picture above).
The last step was to cut a piece of red card stock to a 2 1/4" square, and a 2" white card stock square. The white was matted on the red, then turned to diamond shape and stamped the sentiment (again from the Heartfelt sheet) before gluing in place so it was hidden behind the upper outside diamond shape when the card is closed.
