HD Christmas Past - A Gift for You

These cards finished off the HD Christmas Past card kit - from the set called "A Gift for You".  There are 7 cards from this set bringing the total from this kit to 45 cards!

Card #1 (above):  The background on this card was cut from a piece of AS (adorable scoreable card stock) from the set (I cut out the center with a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two and used part of that on the inside of the card).  The focal is from a Debbi Moore freebie - and the sentiment from another.  I cut pieces from a gold die cut for top and bottom of the focal (Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares).

Inside:

Inside is another Debbi Moore focal & Greeting.  The red top & bottom was cut from the background on the front of the card.

Card #2:

Once again, this card started with a piece of AS from the set.  To this, I added pieces from a Debbi Moore set and a piece of red ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

Card #3:

Once again, card number 3 consists of background of AS from the set and focal/sentiment from a Debbi Moore set.

Inside:

More from the same.

Card #4:

Card number 4 is a large card - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", embossed with Decor Circles by Theresa Collins and inked with a couple of colors to get the shade I wanted.  The rest of the elements are die cuts from the set.

Inside:

The inside has border and die cut from the set.  The rest are pieces of Hunkydory AS but not from this set.

Card #5:

This card started with a piece of AS from the set.  To that I added a gold frame cut with Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangles and a couple of pieces from Debbi Moore.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same - with leftover die cut pieces from card #1

Card #6:

Once again I started with AS from the set for the background.  I added some pieces cut from a doily and border/greeting/focal from Debbi Moore.

Inside:

More AS & another Debbi Moore piece complete the inside.

Card #7:

This last card uses pieces of AS that may have been leftovers from another HD set (not sure) - matted on gold poster board.  The focal is from this set, but the frame was from another one - it was actually a hot pink color which I colored over with a red Sharpie pen.  The braid border is from my stash.

Inside:

Inside are more pieces of AS, a tag from the set, and more braid from my stash.

It feels like quite an accomplishment to complete this HD kit - and to have gotten 45 cards from it!

October Swap Card

This card was made for a swap.  It's an "Arrow fold card" that has been turned on its side.  The printed papers and focal are freebies from Debbi Moore.  The snowflakes are Dazzles from HOTP, and the dark blue card stock is from my stash. Here's the inside:

11/2/20 UPDATE: Since my swap card apparently got lost in the mail, I decided I better make a 2nd one and send it.  I took the opportunity to fix the things I didn't like as much about the first one (the main thing being that the inside tag was partly visible from the front on the first one):

HD Florabunda Radiant Roses - Part 2

Today's 5 cards complete the Hunkydory Florabunda Radiant Roses card making kit except for a few small die cuts that I saved for my stash.  That brings the total to 9 cards from this kit.

Card #1 (above):  In addition to the materials in the kit, this card uses gold poster board, a bit of ribbon, and a bit of twine from my stash.  The sentiment is Dazzles (HOTP).

Inside:

Card #2:

In addition to materials from the kit, I used a piece of gold poster board that was cut using a Fun Stampers Journey (Journey Rectangle Long Die) and a scrap of ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

In addition to the Fun Stampers Journey die, the inside has a piece cut with Spellbinder's die called "Tileworks".

Card #3:

A ribbon from my stash is the only addition to the materials in the kit that were used on the card.

Inside:

Card #4:

This next card uses materials from a Debbi Moore freebie in addition to the materials in the kit.  The gold mat was die cut using a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two.

Inside:

Inside I also added a strip of washi tape.

Card #5:

The outside of this card is all from the kit, but the inside adds a border that's a freebie from Debbi Moore.

HD Florabunda Radiant Roses - Part 1

Today I'm taking a break from making Christmas cards.  My brother gave me a Hunkydory kit awhile back called Florabunda Radiant Roses, and these are the first 4 cards made with that kit.

Card #1 (above):  First up is an A2 card.  I used a HOTP embossing folder called "Rose Corner" on the front of the card, then inked it as you can see.  To that I added my sentiment - matted with a piece of AS (Adorable Scoreable card stock from the kit) and some gold poster board cut with a Fun Stampers Journey cutting die from the "Rectangles" die set.

Card #2:

Card number two started with a piece of AS.  I heat embossed the edges with gold, then embossed it using a Spellbinder's 3-D embossing folder called European Tapestry.  Unfortunately when I embossed it, it cracked a bit in the darker part of the AS, so I hit the embossed areas with gold ink to hide that issue.  A topper from the kit was all I added to my embossed background.

Card #3:

This card simply uses elements from the kit, along with some gold poster board.

Inside:

Card #4:

This last of today's cards was made using a piece of the AS.  I was not happy with it, however, because the roses and leaves were VERY pixelated - very unlike usual HD standards.  To try to hide that issue and make it look better, I went over outlines and edges with a gold gel pen.  It really DID help!

The card stock is only 8 1/4" or so wide, and I wanted it to be more like 8 1/2" for the card I was making - so I sliced it and inserted a ribbon from my stash to add the extra height before adding the sentiment.  Matting was done with gold poster board.

HD Christmas Past - A Festive Town

Today I've continued working with the Hunkydory kit called Christmas Past - this time the set called "A Festive Town".  The five cards completed this time brings my total so far to 38.

Card #1 (above): This card was actually the last one I made from this set.  I had used all the toppers and had this sheet of AS (adorable scoreable) and one greeting left.  I kept thinking that the AS sheet would be a great background for a nativity scene.  I used several die sets from Divinity Designs to create this card: Double Display Bundle, Holy Night Die, Bethlehem dies. In addition to materials from the set I used gold poster board.

When closed:

To close the card, I added a gold ribbon from my stash.

Card #2:

While I could have used these pieces to make 3 cards, I chose to just make one.  In addition to materials from the set, I added a gold sticker bow.

Card #3:

For this third card, I used a Crafter's Companion/Gemini embossing folder called Sparkling Snowfall in addition to materials from the set.

Card #4:

Card #4 used a piece of AS (adorable scoreable card stock) from the kit & a tag.  Ribbon from my stash completes the card.

Card #5:

This fifth card used a topper from the set & scraps from one of the other sets from this same kit.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

HD Christmas Past - A Delightful Christmas

Today's cards once again come mostly from the Hunkydory kit called Christmas Past.  This particular set is called "A Delightful Christmas".  I already made one card from this a long time ago - you can see it here.  I also let someone else make a card using materials from this set, so today's cards are the leftovers.  These 3 cards bring my total so far from this kit to 33 cards that I've made.

Card #1: The cat focal was made using a stamp from Stampendous called "Christmas Kitten" - colored with Gelatos, Luster Polish & Fluffy Stuff (the last two from Cosmic Shimmer) & then fussy cut and added inside the frame.  The sentiment was a fabric sticker from my stash - along with a couple of Jewel Dazzles.  The brown is card stock from my stash. The rest was all from the set.

Inside:

Another fabric sticker & more Jewel Dazzles work together with other pieces from the set to form the inside.

Card #2:

For this card, I added some Dazzles snowflakes (HOTP) to the materials from the Hunkydory set.

Inside:

Card #3:

This last card is an oversized card.  The background & border & frame are from the set.  The focal is created with puffy stickers from my stash.  Sentiments are fabric stickers from my stash - with a couple of Jewel Dazzles added.

Inside:

Inside, in addition to materials from the set, I added a fussy cut sticker & another fabric sticker.

Thanksgiving Cards 2020

Today I have several Thanksgiving cards - made from misc. items from my stash.

Card #1: This first one is mostly just pieces of patterned papers.  The greeting was printed using stamps from Antique Autumn Tags One (JustRite).  I fussy cut the greeting.  Inside is more of the paper:

Card #2: Cards 2 through 5 make use of pieces of freezer paper prepared napkins.  Card #2 uses a stamp from Antique Autumn Tags One.

Inside:

Card #3: More napkins - greeting stamped using a stamp from Autumn Vintage Labels Three (JustRite).

Inside:

Card #4:

Here I used a Sizzix embossing folder called Diamonds - hit with some gold ink to create the background.  The border is napkin.  The greeting is gold poster board die cut with a Spellbinder's die from Fancy Tags Two - stamped and heat embossed using a stamp from JustRite's Antique Autumn Tags One.

Card #5:

I inked the background of the card - and added the napkin pieces.  The greeting was heat embossed in gold using a JustRite stamp from Autumn Vintage Labels Three

Inside:

Card #6:

The focal was from my stash - backed by a die cut brown piece of card stock (Spellbinder's Label's Twenty-Eight) and gold stickers.  Inside is another gold sticker.  Frame is created using a corner punch.
