Five by Five challenge

Today's scrapbook pages were inspired by a challenge:  pick a sketch, make 5 pages from the one sketch (can rotate the sketch), at least one element must be fussy cut, one element must involve some sort of liquid medium, there must be at least 3 patterned papers on the page, and there must be some sort of fiber.

The sketch I've used is from page maps:

 Though the sketch is for an 8 1/2 x 11 page, my pages are 8 x 8.

Scrapbook Page #1 (above):  I chose a yellow striped background for the page, then added a green striped paper on the left side - along with a border strip.  I trimmed the 3rd patterned paper down to just the portion with the green frog puppet.  I matted the photo on green card stock after rounding the corners of both.  Then I cut a circle from the green card stock & wrote my title & journaling on it.  I added the date at the bottom with a little piece of yellow card stock.  I stamped 3 frog images and colored them with water color pencils & water, then fussy cut them before adding them with foam squares for dimension.  Finally, I added a small bow of baker's twine.

Scrapbook Page #2:

For this next page, I flipped the sketch to the left so the border was at the bottom.  The background is a "Shine Design" paper from HOTP.  The border & mat papers are also from them.  Along the border I glued a piece of eyelet lace.  I die cut a large circle & colored it with inks to make a "sun" in the sky - where I added a title (cutout from HOTP).  I matted the photo on a piece of yellow gingham paper - leaving room on the right for journaling.  The 3 embellishments were from my stash - the flip flops were fussy cut.

Scrapbook Page #3:

Page number three starts with the sketch turned to the right so the border is at the top.  The background is a pink gingham.  A plaid border is at the top - with a wide pink satin ribbon from my stash.  The circle is cut from a third pattern & inked around the edges.  I added a brad buddy graduation cap, the open diploma (where I did my journaling), the closed diploma, and the title words on the picture which was matted a couple of times.  The ribbon on the open diploma was redder than I wanted, so I colored over the top of it with pink marker.

Scrapbook Page #4:

Once again, I left the sketch in the normal orientation for this next page.  I thought all the circles on the background page were perfect for a page about basketball.  For the border I used a strip of orange paper & then a narrower strip of blue.  The blue was also used to mat the photo & to cut the circle with the sub-title date.  Out of the orange I also cut the partial mat behind the photo & the letters for title and sub-title.  I inked all of the edges of the blue & orange (except the letters which were too tiny).  I added a blue ribbon from my stash along the bottom on which I placed some sticker basketball shoes.  As you can see, I also added a sticker basketball and basketball net.

Scrapbook Page #5:

The fifth and final page in this set started with a flowered green piece.  As you can probably tell, the sketch was turned so that the border was at the top - a border of blue patterned paper and a bright yellow ribbon.  The picture is matted in a dark blue card stock (a bit bigger to allow room for the printed journaling) and then double matted with a piece of yellow patterned paper.  I die cut the letters for the title from the yellow patterned paper and the dark blue card stock.  I added the little label that said "Outdoor Fun" along with 3 flowers & three butterflies from my stash.  The final touch was  a touch of frosty colored Stickles in the center of each flower.
