Colorful Tissue

Today's card started with a colorful piece of tissue paper that I found on my desk - leftover from putting my birthday presents away.  I decided that could make a great background paper for a card, so I used matte medium to glue it to the card front - then added a focal from a Debbi Moore digital download.  I stamped a couple of sentiments (Apple of My Eye from a card making magazine, and Birthday Wishes from Studio G).  It's hard to tell in the picture, but there are some layers on the focal the flowers & three hearts hanging down, and the flowers below the tea pot.

Inside:

Inside is more of the tissue paper (I used matte medium to glue it to a piece of card stock that I then glued to the inside of the card), and a sentiment from the same Debbi Moore set.

Peaceful Panda

Today's Peaceful Panda card is made using a bamboo embossing folder by Darice, a Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval die, digital downloads from Debbi Moore, bits and pieces of Hunkydory stash, Distress ink (Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint), and ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

On the inside, I added an embossed/colored strip & ribbon as I had on the front.  The panda and sentiment were more digital downloads from Debbie Moore, but I added green Glimmer Mist and a bit of Distress ink to the sentiment (it was mostly yellow before).

Wedding Card

Today's card is for my cousin's upcoming wedding.  I used dies from the Octagon Box and A5 Box Kit die sets by Card Making Magic and Spellbinder's Labels Sixteen, some die cuts from a HOTP Foil Papier Tole kit, some Dazzles stickers, and miscellaneous papers and card stock from my stash.  The stamped greeting on the inside uses stamps from JustRite's Mr. & Mrs. Vintage Labels Two.

Inside:

Secret Sister

Once again this year I signed up to do a "Secret Sister" swap.  As I did last year, I wanted to send all the cards to the intermediary at once - saves postage & makes sure it happens!  These are the things I sent (plus the cooking one I made with leftovers from the "Bake Shop").

Card #1 & bookmark (September - above) - patterned paper, flowers, some butterflies and greetings were digital downloads from Debbie Moore.  The card stock & remaining butterflies were from my stash.

Inside (and back of bookmark):

More of the same - greeting on card was stamped from a HOTP set called "Simply Susan".  The text on the back of the bookmark was computer printed.

Card #2 (October):

For this card, I used a card base cut from black card stock.  The bat was from my stash (old HOTP).  The "haunted house" was a digistamp (not sure where I got it).  I colored it with Inktense pencils & water, as well as inks from my stash.  The moon was colored with Opal Polish. The letters were fuzzy stickers from my stash.

Inside:

Inside I added a piece of paper colored with a variety of Opal Polishes and added a spider from my stash (old HOTP).

Card #3 (November):

I REALLY stepped outside of my comfort zone for this one - but tried it to help disguise my card making style.  The music and lady were freebies downloaded a long time ago - not sure where I got them at this point!  There are bits of cut up paper doilies, napkins (turkey & pumpkin), ribbon, thread, flowers and "diamonds" (for flower centers) from my stash.  I used matte medium and gesso, a variety of inks and sprays.  It took a LONG time!

Inside:

Inside is more of the same, along with a pumpkin I had made some time ago from a stamp & Dazzles pieces from a scrapbooking dazzles set (HOTP).

Card #4 (December): this was the baking card mentioned earlier.

Card #5 (Christmas):

This card was a fun one made using another freebie digistamp I got from somewhere.  It is mostly colored with Inktense & water, but I also used metallic watercolor paints on the garland & ornaments. Gold linen card stock was from my stash; greeting was digi download from Debbie Moore and purple was Opal Polish on black card stock.  Oh yes, the inside gold mat was die cut using a die from Crafti Potential (A2 Stitched Rectangles Dots & Stars).

Inside:

Inside I have more of the opal polish on black - more of the gold (using same die set to cut mat) - and another piece from a Debbie Moore digital download.  I bordered that with strips of the opal polish on black and added the word "SANTA: using stickers from my stash.

Additional Gift:

I included a "wallet" gift card holder (basic instructions here).  I used my Brick Wall embossing folder (Darice) to add texture & added some ribbon and embellishment from my stash.

Inside:

I made a couple of pockets for gift cards or similar sized objects from patterned paper & added greetings from my stash.

This picture shows that there is also another pocket that money can be put into.

Card #6 (January Reveal Card):

This card was made with elements that I "up cycled" from a card I received (though I'm pretty sure the main elements are from Hunkydory).  The lace was up cycled, but the gold ribbon was from my stash.  The background is a piece of pink cardstock embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Rosa by Anna Griffin - with added ink to highlight the emboss.

Inside:

Inside was a piece of marbled paper from my stash & another up cycled Hunkydory piece.

Bake Shop

Today's cards come from a freebie set I got from CraftsUPrint - made by Carol Clarke.

Card #1 (above): This first card is one I designed from leftover elements from the original card she designed (see 2nd card below).  I fussy cut them out & inked the edges with black, but everything came from the set - including the background paper.

Inside:

Card #2:

This second card (and matching envelope!) is based on her original design - mostly set as she had it, but with a few changes I made.  I chose which window decoration to use, and which pop-up.  Then, I added a couple elements with the pop up, but all came from her kit.

Here are another couple of angles:

There's room for a message on the back of the card, but I forgot to take a picture of that!

A Couple of Cards

Today I have a couple of cards.  The first was created using freebie digital downloads from Debbie Moore - I combined elements from several of them.  The only thing I added that wasn't hers was the black card stock & pieces from a paper doily from my stash.

Inside:

Card #2:

The basis for this card was a background stamp by JustRite called Floral Harvest. I stamped it in black & heat embossed with black powder.  Then I colored it with different colors of Opal Polish.  The focal and sentiment were stamped using a HOTP set called Four Seasons.  I matted it with gold linen card stock.

Inside:

Inside I added an oval of the gold linen card stock & a sentiment from a Debbie Moore download.

Sugar Plum ACK - Part 9

Yes, it's true - I'm still working on that Sugar Plum Artful Card Kit!  Today brings 4 more cards for a total so far of 28 (and yes, there's still a bit more to use up!).

Card #1 (above): Despite the fact that this is designed as a Christmas card kit, my first card today is a birthday card.  The patterned papers are from the kit - everything else is from my stash.  The focal is a freebie digital stamp - colored with Inktense pencils & water.  The greeting was created on my computer & printed out.  The lace is real lace from my stash.

Card #2:

The patterned paper is once again from the kit.  The greeting and focal (layered with 3d foam) is from a Debbie Moore kit.  The border is made up of ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same - plus a stamped greeting from HOTP Christmas Cheer.

Card #3:

Card number 3 is a sideways gate fold card.  Patterned paper & greetings are from the kit.  Focal is again from a Debbie Moore digital download.  The embossing folder is a Darice folder called Snowflake Background.  Snowflake confetti, ribbons, and orange glitter card stock are from my stash.

Inside:

Card #4:

Once again, the patterned papers are from the ACK, the focal and greeting from a Debbie Moore digital download, and the rest from my stash.  I fussy cut around the baby bear's hand so it shows on the outside of the greeting.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.  The mat for the greeting is die cut using a Spellbinders Label Four die.

Sugar Plum ACK - Part 8

Once again I am working with the Sugar Plum Artful Card Kit (ACK).  You'd think this would be the last of it, but it is not.  I'm hoping to finish it in the next post.  At any rate, these two cards bring the total cards from this set to 24 so far.

Card #1 (above): Most of this card is scraps of paper and some fussy cut greetings from the ACK.  I added ink to all the edges (distress ink walnut stain).  I also added scraps of craft and cream colored card stock from my stash.  The finishing touch was some gold Jewel Dazzles added to the center of the mandalas.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

Card #2:

This second one is mostly paper & a greeting from the kit - but I added cream colored paper, some ribbon, and gold sequins from my stash.  Die used for the mats is a Spellbinder's die from the set called Lattice Rectangles.

Sugar Plum ACK - Part 7

I'm back with a couple more Sugar Plum Artful Card Kit (ACK - from HOTP) cards.  As with the last batch, I ran out of die cuts from the kit some time back, so am having to scrounge in my stash to find focals and embellishments so that I can use up the paper that came in the kit.

Card #1:  This first card makes use of the front of a card that I received a week or so ago.  I thought the dog was so cute!  And with the red collar, he was perfect to do with this red gingham from the ACK (and gave me a chance to make a card other than a Christmas card from this set!).  The red glimmer paper is from my stash.  Focal & mat were cut with Spellbinder's dies (Labels Four & Grand Labels Four).  The embossing folder used is an old standby - Swiss Dots from Cuttlebug.  The greeting is one I made and printed from my computer.  The bow is a die from a magazine freebie (Cardmaking & Papercraft December 2019 - set called Have a Holly JollyChristmas).

 Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

Card #2:

This second card also makes use of a card I received.  This time I cut the image out and glued it to the front of an embossed card base (embossing folder is 5X7 Entwined Holly from Crafter's Companion).  The greeting is from the ACK.

Inside:

Inside are scraps of paper from the kit, a label cutout from the kit that I stamped with a stamp from JustRite's Christmas Trimmings.  The little sprigs of holly were fussy cut from paper from my stash and glued in place.

These two cards bring my total so far with this kit to 22.

Sugar Plum ACK Part 6

Well, this is a kit that seems never ending!  In this 6th installment of the Sugar Plum Artful Card Kit (HTOP) I've made 5 more cards - bringing to total so far to 20.  Most of what I had left was patterned paper since apparently I got two of each sheet in the kit!  So, I've had to go into my stash and get creative about finding focals to use with it.

Card #1 (above):  For my focal in this first example, I've used a picture cut from an envelope I received for Christmas and stored in my stash.  I added red glimmer paper from my stash for mats and borders.  I needed to use up this scrap of patterned paper and felt an embossed card front would go well with it.  As you can see, I made a border from other scraps - some of which I cut with a Card Making Magic border die from their A5 Box Kit.  The "Merry Christmas" greeting is from the ACK.  The word "joy" in the upper left-hand corner is a hand-lettered embellishment I made using a die  from Spellbinder's Luscious Labels One.  The embossing is a 5X7 M-Bossabilities folder called Elite.

Inside:

Inside I have borders created by combining a bunch of scraps, and a focal greeting.  The greeting itself is from the ACK - which I matted on a piece die cut using Spellbinder's Radiant Rectangles (with part of the center to cut out to fit the way I wanted it).

Card #2:

This next card once again uses paper & greetings from the ACK.  For a focal, I die cut some ornaments (Paper Artist Three Lacy Christmas Ornaments), backed them with paper, and arranged them along a ribbon border.  The stars were from my stash & the frame for the greeting was a die cut from Spellbinder's Renaissance Jeweled Frame).

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

Card #3:

For this 3rd card, the paper is once again from the ACK, but the rest is from my stash - ribbon, brads, red glimmer paper.  The tags were printed from a freebie from TheNavagePatch.  The tray of "cookies" is a brad buddy from HOTP.  I colored the tag with Distress Ink to tone down the white.

Inside:

Inside is more of the same.

Card #4:

I still had more of that paper left over, so went looking for more things to use with it.  I found these mittens & other embellishments in my stash - old HOTP stuff.  The greeting is stamped on a label from the kit using a stamp from Christmas Labels & Trims (HOTP).

Inside:

Inside is more of the same - with a greeting from Divinity Designs Christmas Card Scriptures.

Card #5:

For this card I used a focal from a Christmas card I received in the past.  The tag is from my stash (old HOTP stuff). Once again I used distress ink to tone down the bright white in the greeting.

Inside:

Inside is more scraps of the paper and a greeting - label from my stash stamped with a stamp from JustRite's Noel Christmas Ornaments.
