A couple of Christmas Cards

Today I have a couple of quick Christmas cards made using Debbi Moore products.

Card #1 (above): This first one has a wonderful texture because the background is some green suede paper from HOTP.  The tag at the top is from Hunkydory & the rest is stuff I printed from Debbi Moore.

Inside:

Here we have more of the green suede & Debbi Moore printouts.

Card #2:

For this card, I combined Debbi Moore printouts with papers & cutouts from an old HOTP Christmas set.  On the front of the card, the sentiment is on foam tape, as is the 2nd layer of the little critters that are with the snowman.  I actually cut the border on the paper so that I could separate the two strips of border squares & put one at the top & one at the bottom.

Fancy a Cuppa?

Today I needed an ultra-quick card to send to a friend.  I turned to an old HOTP kit for making shaped cards, and found this one.  It went together quite quickly with minimal fuss.  The only thing I changed was the addition of some more steam lines on the front, and the little cup embellishment on the inside.

Welcome

Today's card was made using stamps from "Welcome Home" stamp set from HOTP.  The red paper is also an old one of theirs.   I added a couple of different ribbons from my stash, and some red Jewel Dazzles in the upper left corner.

Inside:

I used more of the paper & stamps from the same set to create a scene, then added a message from a stamp set called "Special Gifts Labels Twenty-Nine" by JustRite.

Gilded Leaves

Today I answered a challenge on the PWMB - it called for foiling of some kind.  I chose to use gilding flakes.  I covered a piece of card stock with double sided adhesive, then added the flakes & burnished them.  Then I die cut the leaves using a variety of Card Making Magic dies in my collection (A2 Card & Box, A5 Box, 5X7 Card & Box, Ultimate Number & Overlay). Apparently the pressure of my Gemini machine caused some stickiness on these die cut leaves, so I brushed them them lightly with baby powder to ensure the stickiness wouldn't cause any issues.

Card #1 (above): The letters were from a Hunkydory kit & I glued them to pieces of ribbon.  The background was also Hunkydory "Adorable Scoreable" and the gold is a gold linen card stock from my stash.

Card #2:

This second card uses many of the same materials.  I added the focal sentiment is a Hunkydory piece from a different set.  As you can see, I added some ribbon & lace from my stash.

Fancy Edge Card

Today's card is a "fancy edge" card using a die I received for my birthday. It's a double-edged die from Gemini called "Dancing Butterflies".  As you can see, I cut the edge of the card & layered it with the pink die cut.  The other papers & focal/greetings came with a cardmaking magazine (Creative Stamping Issue 85).

Tropical Birthday

Today's card was made in an attempt to meet several challenges on the PWMB.  First up was a tic-tac-toe challenge where I was to make a summer-look card using 2 patterned papers & die cuts.  Then there was a sketch challenge, and a challenge to use printed leaves on your card.  I believe this card fulfills all 3 of those challenges.

I used papers and cutouts from a  card making magazine, a couple of Hunkydory die cuts, some card stock from my stash, and a Spellbinders cutting die.

Tropical Treetops Cards

Today I have 3 cards that were created using a stamp set I got in the card making magazine called "Creative Stamping" Issue 85.

Card #1 (above): I created the card base from an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of black card stock.  I scored it in half width-wise at 5 1/2", then turned it and scored at 1", 1 1/2", 2", 6 1/2", 7", and 7 1/2" - and creased all score lines.  Turning it back to a portrait position, I cut away the lower right and left sides from the innermost score lines (to leave the middle section which is the inside of the card (see below).  I then took one of the strips I cut away, trimmed it to 1" x 5 1/2" and used that for the cross piece (later I added the stamped/colored/cut out log to this & cut away any visible black on the cross piece).  The paper is a freebie print from Debbi Moore & the rest are stamped, embossed with black powder, colored, & fussy cut from the stamp set.  I colored all with Inktense pencils, and added a bit of additional color with markers.  The log wasn't as long as I wanted, so I used a fine-line pen to draw additional lines to extend it before I colored it.  I also added a small googly eye on the chameleon. The sentiment was stamped using a stamp from the set - then die cut & stenciled using a JustRite die from the set called Antique Labels One.

Inside:

When folded flat, this card is 5 1/2" square.

Card #2:

This card is 4" x 5 1/2" and uses up a scrap of this grassy paper I had in my stash.  Once again I've used stamps from the Tropical Treetops stamp set - heat embossed with clear powder (in the future I think I'll use black!).  The little animal & ants are on a leftover strip of parchment that I had colored with alcohol inks.  The greeting was die cut & stenciled using a JustRite Die from their Vintage Labels Two set and distress ink.  The lemur? meercat? is colored with Inktense pencils & water.  The black and white card stock are from my stash.

Inside:

Inside I've used more of the grass paper & a North Coast Creations stamp from a set called Floral Sentiments #8.

Card #3:

This card uses two different downloads from Debbi Moore - one for the leaf paper and one for the panda & greeting.  The greeting itself was stamped using a stamp from Tropical Treetops stamp set.  The dark green is a piece of wallpaper from my stash.

Double-Sided Paper Card

A friend sent me the base of this card, and I liked how easily it was made with double-sided paper.  I don't know where she got the paper, but it's a lovely fall print on the one side & a check print on the other.  She had the porcupine & mushrooms in place, but had put the "Hi" over by the porcupine.  She had also sent the die cuts that I used for mats inside & out - though they weren't attached to anything.  I simply glued the mats in place and added a Dazzle for the focal on the outside.  I colored it in with Inktense markers and moved the "Hi" right underneath it.  Voila'!

Phill Martin's Nautical Box Collection

Today I was playing with the Phill Martin box kit that my hubby ordered for me for my birthday, so most materials for these two cards were from that.

Card #1 (above): The "Serenity" is a stamp from a set called "Faith Greetings" from TPC Studio - cut with a JustRite Die (Antique Labels One). The mermaid, rocks, and seahorse are all heat embossed and colored with Opal Polish so they shimmer and some even flash different colors as moved in the light!  I added a bit of net on the rocks (cut from a bag that avocados came in).  The teal card stock is from my stash.

Inside:

Here the greeting is from the kit, the teal card stock for the border & glitter ribbon were from my stash.

Card #2:

Once again, most materials are from the kit - including the papers used.  However, the white "porthole" was cut from glimmer paper from my stash with silver punched pieces added (and no, there are no glaring pieces missing on the actual card - the light hit them weird so you can't see them well in the picture!)

Inside:

Inside is mostly stamped images from the set on a plain blue paper that was also in the kit.  I stamped & heat embossed the boat onto a plain piece of white & colored it with Inktense pencils.  I fussy cut it - cutting the strings off for ease of fussy cutting - then drawing them back in when the boat was in place on the background.  The sentiment banner was printed from a Debbi Moore freebie - then stamped with a JustRite stamp from the set called "Grand Sentiments".

A Few Cards

Time for crafting has been in short supply lately, but here are 3 cards I made in the last couple of weeks.

Card #1 (Above): This first card was made using the ACK called Sunshine & Smiles from HOTP, some black card stock, and a bit of ink.

Inside:

As you can see, I used some of the same materials on the inside.

Card #2:

I love the colors on this center step card.  For it, I combined materials from the same Sunshine and Smiles ACK with some white card stock, some ribbon, and a cutting die (Nellie Snellen's Flower Multi-Frame).

Inside:

More of the same materials complete the inside of the card.

Card #3:

My niece loves owls, so I thought this was the perfect card for her!  I combined materials from a Debbi Moore freebie, some brown Shine Design paper from HOTP, and some ribbons from my stash.

Inside:

Once again the inside was completed using more of the same materials.
