HD Floral Favourites - Pretty in Pink

Today's cards come from a Hunkydory Kit called "Floral Favourites".  The set I used today was the one called "Pretty in Pink".  Here's a picture of the materials in the set:

And here's a picture of the 5 cards I made from this set (note that I later added Dazzles "lace" to one of them - the one you see at the top of this post).

To look at them more closely, I'll show each card individually.

Card #1:

First up is a slimline card made from part of the AS (adorable scoreable card stock) from the set.  I took scraps from one of the die cut sheets to create borders top & bottom, then added a couple of greetings from the set - anchored with sticker "hangers".

Inside:

Inside I have another scrap border & a die cut from the set.

Card #2:

For this card, I embossed the front of the card base with a "Swiss Dots" embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  Next, I took an ink pad lightly to the front of the card to ink the raised dots.  After adding the die cut focal & sentiment (from the set), I added inks with a water brush for a bit of a watercolor effect and to provide some shading.  Finally, I added border Dazzles from a Scrapbooking Dazzles set (HOTP).

Inside:

On the inside, I cut a strip from the AS to form a border to which I attached some of the die cut flowers.

Card #3:

This card front is quite simple, but I just didn't want to do anything else to it!  It consists of a focal, border, and sentiment - all from the kit.  I trimmed the border to fit across the diagonals as you see here.  Then I added the sentiment.

Inside:

On the inside, I used the scraps left over from the angled borders on the front to add "ribbon tails" to this flower die cut (from the set).

Card #4:

At this point I had a piece of the AS left over, but it was basically white - no real color to it.  I decided to change that by taking ink to the surface, and then covering it in clear embossing powder.  After heat setting it, the AS has color AND texture and makes a great background for the die cut focal.  As you can see, I also took a border & sentiment (from the set) to create borders top and bottom.

Inside:

Inside I created a border with the remaining piece of the AS (treated the same way as for the card front), a gold strip from my stash, and a pair of die cut flowers.  The sentiment used one of Mom's stamps.

Card #5:

My final card - is actually the first one I made.  It uses the flower border from the AS. As you can see, I split it in half and adhered each half top and bottom as you see here.  I added gold strips from my stash to emphasize the border & make the borders work better with the sentiment (from the set).  A die cut flower from the set completes the card front.

Inside:

Inside I used the remaining floral AS scrap & a gold piece from my stash to create a stage for the stamped sentiment (one of Mom's stamps).
