It's December!

It's December and time to get serious about Christmas!  Today I'll show a couple of ornaments I've made for an ornament swap this weekend. Unfortunately, it's hard to get pictures that show them well because of the glimmer and shine.

Both are made in a similar way.  I started with a clear glass ornament and covered it with alcohol ink - dabbing it all over with the applicator.  For this first one I used cranberry and silver mixative.  I then applied elements cut with my Silhouette from white sticky-backed vinyl.  Then I sprayed it with a clear glaze.  That gave me a look that was a bit different than I had planned as the glaze caused the color to run over the vinyl, but it was an interesting effect.  I finished the ornament by adding a white ribbon bow at the top and little rhinestone stickers.  This is what the back looks like:

My second ornament was done in a similar way, but I used Stream and Gold Mixative alcohol inks and sprayed it with the glossy glaze BEFORE I added the sticky-backed vinyl elements - this time cut from gold.

Some gold jewel stickers and gold ribbon finished it off.  Oh yes, I also used a gold leafing pen to color the cap of the ornament gold instead of the silver it was originally.  Tomorrow I'll show the little boxes I made to put them in.
