This ornament was commissioned as a special gift from our dancing group for our teachers who celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year. It was etched with etching cream using a pattern cut from adhesive vinyl with my Silhouette - the heart frame was a freebie from Joanne (http://joanne6523.blogspot.com).
The etching left the glass clear where you see the gold. The gold was cut from an adhesive backed mylar and applied to the clear glass. I colored the silver top of the ornament gold with a gold leafing pen. A ribbon finishes it off. Here is the back of the ornament:
You can't really see it in the picture, but I put a Dazzles border along the edge of the ornament. Here's the box I created for it:
