Part 2 continues the use of papers from an 8 x 8 paper pack I was given last year - don't remember who made it. My previous post showed the first 9 cards, here are 8 more.
Card #1: (above) This is a VERY simple card, using just a couple of pieces of the papers (I DID ink the edges with Early Espresso ink (from Stampin' Up!).
Card #2:
Pieces from 3 different papers were cut and arranged as you can see. After I inked the edges with Early Espresso ink, I adhered the pieces to the card front - the focal piece with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I created the oval sentiment using a couple of cutting dies, a scrap of brown rick rack (which I don't like - I'll probably ending up removing it and adding some Stampin' Up! twine instead), and a stamp from the discontinued Beside Me stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Card #3:
This card was made using a lot of different patterned paper pieces from the pack - including the borders. The mat for the focal was a piece of white cardstock that was colored with ink. All pieces were glued directly except for the bottom "sentiment" which was added with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals
Card #4:
For this card, I started with a couple of strips of patterned paper which were glued to the card front, after the edges of the pieces were inked with Early Espresso ink. The embossing was done using the discontinued Cane Weave 3D embossing folder and made a great mat for the focal and sentiment. After inking the edges, I added these to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped using a stamp from the discontinued Mixed Labels stamp set. I added a button from my stash - using narrow strips of cardstock for "thread".
Card #5:
Here we have the King of Beasts in a very simple layout that is pretty clear from the picture.
Card #6:
Here I again have a large cat focal (cut from the same set of papers). The background started with a bunch of 5/8" wide leftover paper strips. They are several different heights, but that doesn't matter. I also used a border across the top as you can see.
Card #7:
I'm really trying to learn to use multiple patterns on the same make. I probably will ALWAYS prefer the cleaner look of one or two, but I'm challenging myself to use 3 - which I've done on this and the next. For this one, I again used the discontinued Cane Weave 3D embossing folder - other than that it was cutting and matting paper and arranging it as you see here. I DID decide to add a few Petal Pink Low Profile Dots to finish it off nicely. I DO like those low profile dots - no worries about mailing! For the sentiment, I stamped it with Early Espresso ink on white card stock, then inked the edges with Petal Pink ink. The stamp was from a discontinued set called Flower Cart.
Card #8:
For the last card for this post, I again used 3 different patterns. The sentiment was so easily made using the discontinued Thoughtful Moments Hybrid embossing folder and Balmy Blue ink. I added it with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals with a Balmy Blue twine bow (part of a 3-color pack that is currently on clearance for a VERY good price).
So - with those in part one, this makes 17 cards from this paper pack. I know I used it for cards previously, and there's still more of the pack left, so I'll get quite a few cards from this paper pack - and it was a good one for practicing putting different patterned papers together.
