KCC #18 Set 1

I DID do one KCC19 in July, but hadn't had time to do up several of the previous KCC before now.   So, I pulled some Stampin' Up! papers and used them with KCC18.  Here are the papers I used:

I started with two papers from the Beautiful Bokeh 6x6 that I've been working with for the butterfly cards.  I decided to look through my discontinued papers to find others to coordinate.  I chose one from Bright & Beautiful 6x6, one from Subtles DSP and one from Neutrals DSP (both from 2024-2025 annual catalog) and a 6x6 piece of paper from the 12x12 Flowering Fields).  After cutting these up as per the KCC18 directions, I used several coordinating cardstocks, inks, Stampin' Blends, and Stampin' Write Markers to go with them as I made up the 18 cards from the sketches.  Colors I used were: Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Fresh Freesia, Highland HeatherBerry Burst, Blackberry Bliss and White. In addition, for some of the cards I used flowers and leaves cut from the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape cut using the Extraordinary Flora cutting die.  Here's a picture of the 18 cards made from this set of papers:

The last four were all from the same sketch - but, of course, I couldn't do them all the same!  Next up is a close up look at all eighteen cards.

Card #1:

For this first card, I modified the sketch in these ways: 1) I embossed the back panel using the discontinued Fern 3D embossing folder, 2) I matted the patterned paper pieces, 3) I added the banner/flags on the diagonal rather than horizontal.  Beyond that, I stamped a tulip and sentiment using a discontinued stamp set called Timeless Tulips.  I added 3 Fresh Freesia colored Starburst Sequins to finish this card.

Card #2:

Again I used the Fern 3D embossing folder.  I matted this, the focal, and the sentiment on Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and the green patterned piece on white.  The sentiment was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink on a piece of white cardstock that had been punched and then inked with Fresh Freesia ink - using a stamp from the discontinued set called So Sincere.  A small piece of white ribbon from my stash, three white Starburst Sequins, and a couple of Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs (discontinued) complete this card.

Card #3:

Since this card uses a large piece of the patterned paper but covers most of it, I cut out the center of the paper and saved it.  I'll either use it on the insides of these cards, or make an extra card with it.  I wanted to mat the white piece on dark cardstock to blend with the papers, but Pretty Peacock wasn't quite right and Lost Lagoon was lighter than I wanted.  SO, I experimented and ended up using a piece of white cardstock colored with Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends marker. I glued the white piece to its mat and then embossed the two together - again using the Fern 3D folder.  The sentiment was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink on a piece of white and then matted on Lost Lagoon cardstock.  To this, I added Extraordinary Flora pieces - and 3 Pretty Peacock sequins from the discontinued Adhesive-backed Sequins Trio

Card #4:

I started with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with a narrow strip of Fresh Freesia cardstock glued to it.  I then embossed the whole with the Joined Together 3D embossing folderBlackberry Bliss ink and a stamp from the Timeless Tulips discontinued stamp set created the sentiment which I added with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The final touch was 3 white sequins from Starburst Sequins.

Card #5:

Because of the orientation of the patterned paper piece, I turned this sketch on it's side. I used 5 different colors of cardstock.  Fresh Freesia for the background, Highland Heather for the next mat and the mat for the focal and sentiment, Lost Lagoon for the supporting mat, White mats for some of the cardstock and the patterned paper piece and for the background of the focal and sentiment.  Blackberry Bliss was used for the very back mat of the focal.  I glued the Lost Lagoon to the Highland Heather mat before embossing with the Joined Together 3D embossing folder.  Then I realized I wanted them matted on white.  I did that as I could, but of course could not for the overlapped section.  For this, I added some white Dazzles border stickers to create that look.  I cut out a few of the little Highland Heather tulips from another scrap of the patterned paper.  The sentiment was stamped with Highland Heather ink and a stamp from the discontinued Mixed Labels stamps. I die cut the sentiment with the coordinating Mixed Labels dies and added a bit of white ribbon from my stash.

Card #6:

I again turned the sketch on its side to create this card. The patterned paper served as the background of this card, but I felt it was a bit too bland as it was, so I embossed it with the Joined Together 3D embossing folder, then inked it with Berry Burst inkI used that same ink to ink the edges of the Fresh Freesia cardstock pieces that I cut to match the card sketch.  I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for the 2nd color.  The focal was again created using some of the prepared Extraordinary Flora pieces. Next, I added a sentiment created using the discontinued Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. with Balmy Blue ink on white cardstock.

Card #7:

I glued the pieces to a piece of cardstock - then used white thin line sticker between them before adding to a Blackberry Bliss mat, which I also used for the border near the top.  The lower sentiment was again created using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder.  The hearts were die cut using dies from the Hearts of Elegance cutting dies set, except for the single layer heart from the Celebrate Love Mix & Match Ephemera Pack - (both currently on last chance sale).

Card #8:

This time, I used a printed digital paper to create the half circle.  Double matting, a sentiment again created from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder, and a few sequins from the Purple Adhesive-backed Sequins make this version of the sketch for card #8.

Card #9:

I started by using a Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write marker to draw around the edge of the card front - giving the look of a mat.  Then, I embossed it using the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder.  The patterned paper pieces and the extra pieces (Pretty Peacock & Lost Lagoon cardstock as defined in the sketch) were glued to the card front as per the sketch.  I created the sentiment using Lost Lagoon ink matted on Lost Lagoon cardstock - and a stamp from The Right Words stamp set.  For finishing touches, I added a few Extraordinary Flora pieces.

Card #10:

This sketch was pretty challenging for me - just not the kind of thing I'm used to.  I embossed the card front using an old Cuttlebug embossing folder called Swiss Dots. In addition to the patterned paper pieces, I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock and  Highland Heather cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with stamps from the discontinued Flower Cart stamp set using Berry Burst ink and matting it with Berry Burst cardstock.  This time I finished the card by adding two colors from the Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins set.

Card #11:

This time, I added a Fresh Freesia cardstock panel to the card front - after again embossing it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I think the sketch with the lattice style strips is pretty interesting.  As you can see, I added some roses on top (Extraordinary Flora pieces).  The sentiment was stamped with Berry Burst ink and matted with Berry Burst cardstock.

Card #12:

This time I decided to add a border strip and move the focal down a bit from the sketch.  The flowers are again a few Extraordinary Flora pieces.  I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock for my border, matting and one of the banner/flags.  The sentiment was again from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder - added with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  A bow made from Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon completed the card.

Card #13:

If you're following along with KCC, you'll know that I modified this sketch a bit.  The mat behind the sentiment was supposed to be a plain cardstock rectangle in alignment with the upper right rectangle.  However, I had that die cut mat in my stash and decided to use it up.  I not only matted all the pieces, but I embossed the two rectangles.  I added the washi tape flowers, and a stamped sentiment.  It's a little hard to see, but the center of each flower is a gem that started as a clear gem, but I colored them with a Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend marker.

Card #14:

I started by matting my patterned paper pieces and gluing them in place on the card front.  Then I embossed the card front (Soft Waves 3D embossing folder) before adding the focal with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals  More of those Extrodinary Florals washi tape pieces, a stamped sentiment (The Right Words stamp set), bow made from Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbonand adhesive-backed sequins finished this card.

Card #15:

The next 4 are all from the same sketch, but I modified it - OVER and OVER - none are exactly like the sketch (though I had intended this one to be and forgot what I was doing!).  I embossed the background Fresh Freesia cardstock - but somehow got it in the folder wrong so the far left side didn't get embossed.  I used a white Dazzles border sticker across to make it look deliberate.  The sentiment is from a discontinued stamp set called Forever Fern, and the flower and leaves is from a discontinued kit called Sentimental Rose.  I DO wish I had made this the way I intended - the darker piece would have been in the upper left corner and I think I'd have liked it.

Card #16:

For this one, I found a coordinating piece of paper in my Bright & Beautiful 6x6 paper pack. The leaves were die cut using dies from the Otterly Amazing die set (discontinued).  The bow was made from Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon that I colored with a Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend marker.  I stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the Flower Cart stamp set (discontinued). The final touch was the Blackberry Bliss dots in the lower right corner.

Card #17:

This time I used a piece from the Beautiful Bokeh 6x6 paper set for the background, and flipped the cut patterned paper to the other side (striped).  I added a Border Dazzles piece to create a border running across the top of the card.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut using the Mixed Labels stamp set (discontinued) and the matching dies.  Again used the Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon for a bow and added 3 Blackberry Bliss colored dots.

Card #18:

For this last one, I found another piece from the Bright & Beautiful pack to create the background.  I again used sprigs die cut from with the Otterly Amazing cutting dies and the Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon for a bow. The sentiment was stamped on a Fresh Freesia cardstock circle using Blackberry Bliss ink and a stamp from the discontinued stamp set called So Sincere.

Whew! 18 cards - and I'm pretty happy with most of them!
