Thank You Cards Needed!

I realized I needed more thank you cards, so that's what I chose to focus on today.  I have 4 cards from LB (Hunkydory Little Book) pages - all from the LB of Memorable Moments - and one from a Pop-a-Topper set.

Card #1 (above):  This first card was created from a LB page.  I started with a marbleized cream colored card stock card base.  I took one look at the LB page and decided to try making a vertical card out of a horizontal LB page.  That meant the LB page was a bit wider than the card and had to be trimmed to fit in that direction.  The leafy border with the solid green strip beside it formed borders top and bottom of the little book page.  I cut them off and spaced them top and bottom of my card with some of the card base showing through top and bottom of that.  I then found a scrap of tan and embossed it (Brocade Imprints by Fun Stamper's Journey) to serve as a large mat for the remaining LB piece that serves as my focal.  The sentiment is from a stamp & die set of my mother's.  I inked the edges and then fussy cut part of the border free so I could thread it through the sentiment.

Card #2:

The second card started with a Pop-a-Topper set called Ladies Choice.  I was loosely following this month's sketch from a MB I frequent.  I found some scraps of gold poster board, brown patterned paper, and tan patterned paper in my stash.  I used the gold to mat the background which was the brown pattern.  The tan was cut into two mats - one for the the focal/frame, and the other for the border.  I wish now I had added a stripe to that one, but don't feel like going back & changing it now.  The rest of the materials are from the pop-a-topper sheet.  The "thank you" sentiment was added with foam tape.

Card #3:

This thank you card is based on another page from the LB of Memorable Moments.  Though the car is rather decorative, I DO think this will serve for a masculine thank you.  The background is a plaid pattern from HOTP - both the background and LB page are matted with black paper from my stash.  The ribbon is also from my stash.  The sentiment was stamped & die cut with my Mom's set - inked with distress ink and matted on black, then matted on striped card stock from my stash - which I also matted with black.

Card #4:

Here's another thank you card from the LB of Memorable Moments.  Both background paper and LB page were matted with black - and black ribbon from my stash was added.  The background paper was an older print from HOTP.  The sentiment was a freebie printout from Debbi Moore.

Card #5:

Once again, the background paper is an old one from HOTP - and the mat for the sentiment was a freebie cut out from HOTP.  Again, this is a LB page from Memorable Moments.  I used black paper for mats, along with a teal from my stash.  The sentiment was a stamped/die cut image using Mom's stamp/die set.

HD Twilight Under the Sea - Majestic Marine

Today I have five more Hunkydory cards from the Twilight Under the Sea kit - this time the Majestic Marine set.  Here's a picture of the original materials:

There were two sheets of printed AS (Adoreable Scoreable card stock) and one sheet of die cuts.  Here's the set of 5 cards that I made from it:

And now, a closer look at each card.

Card #1: 

For this card, I used the AS to create borders on each side of the border picture.  I used some black washi tape to match the border on the other side.  I used one of the die cut frames to focus on the focal area.  Two different washi tapes top and bottom finished those edges.  I finished the card front with a sentiment die cut - with ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

Borders of the AS frame the stamped sentiment - this one from a HOTP set called Birthday Cheer.

Card #2:

This interlocking gate fold card has pieces of both of the AS pieces as background.  The die cut focal and frame form the "interlocking" pieces.  The sentiment is a tag from the die cut sheet - with a piece of black ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

Two strips of AS form borders on the inside - and a small die cut decorates it.  The stamped message was from a Crafter's Companion Compendium page of stamps called Celebrate.

Card #3:

The "mat" was created with washi tape.  The background/focal was cut from one of the AS pieces - and then the edges were inked with black ink.  A die cut frame, border, and sentiment - all from the die cut sheet - completes the card front.

Inside:

Pieces of AS form the borders on the inside - along with a little bit of washi tape.  The sentiment was stamped from a HOTP set called Birthday Cheer.

Card #4:

A piece of the AS forms the background for this card.  A border was created with scraps of paper from my stash (the black was embossed using a Darice embossing folder called Damask).  A die cut border and sentiment finish the card front (the border was too short, so is pieced behind the sentiment piece.

Inside:

Another stamp from the Celebrate stamp sheet was used to create the message on the inside of the card.

Card #5:

For this gate fold card, I started with scraps from my stash to create the background - then die cuts for the rest - frame, focal, sentiment, and border (which I cut in pieces).

Inside:

Two borders created from scraps of paper from my stash frame two stamped messages - from Crafter's Companion Compendium page called Love and Hugs.

HD Butterfly Blue - Flutterbye Wishes

Today I have another Hunkydory set - The kit is called Butterfly Blue, and has this beautiful turquoise foiling. Gorgeous!  The specific set I used today was called Flutterbye Wishes.

Here's what the set looked like when I started:

It's a normal set with 2 AS sheets (adoreable scoreable printed card stock) and 1 sheet of die cuts.

And here are the five cards I made from it:

 

 

Below is a closer look at each.

Card #1:

These first two cards are larger cards - nearly 1/2 letter size.  Here I've used some mirri board from my stash to mat the piece of AS that I've chosen for the card front (after scavenging the center by die cutting it - die cut used later).   Then I just added a sentiment on foam tape to finish it.

Inside:

Stamps are from my Mom's stamps - a strip of mirri, a strip of AS, and a die cut complete the inside.

Card #2:

This is an aperture card.  After matting the AS with mirri (gutted mirri, of course), I glued the frame in place and then used a craft knife and detail scissors to remove the inside of it so you can see through to the die cut on the inside.  Then I added a glitter ribbon border with die cut, and a couple die cut corners from the mirri to complete the outside.

Inside:

Inside I just have the die cut, leaving plenty of room for a personal message.

Card #3:

This mirri mat is the die cutted "gutting" of one of the previous mats.  It too, is gutted behind the focal & frame (frame was added with foam tape).  A die cut tag with ribbon from my stash finishes the card front.

Inside:

Here a strip of mirri & a die cut tag form the border beside the stamped message (again from my Mom's stamps).

Card #4:

This card is an interlocking gatefold - so easy to make when using their die cut focal and frame (works best when done like this one where the frame is a bit bigger than the die cut).  The background is cut from & pieced from AS (border was cut off and added as you see it here).  A small die cut greeting completes the card front.

Inside:

Inside I used some scrap AS with piece cut from the die cut border to create borders for the stamped message (again one of my Mom's stamps).

Card #5:

This last one doesn't have any of the foiling, but is still a pretty card.  It is cut from the AS - cut short to allow for the addition of another border at the top.  As you can probably see, I inked the edges with black ink.  Then I simply added a fussy cut greeting from a Debbi Moore freebie - added with foam tape.

Inside:

Here I added borders top & bottom (again cut from the AS & edges inked), then added a stamped message (one of Mom's stamps).

Friday Scrapbook Pages

I REALLY want to finish this scrapbook today.  Above you see the first page of today's efforts.

Page #1 (above): This page was quick and easy.  The background was from an 8 x 8 paper pack from HOTP.  I thought the design on it was perfect for a basketball page.  The 3D title & embellishments were from my stash.

Page #2:

I thought a black and white background pattern was perfect for a page about a black and white dog.  I added strips of washi tape top and bottom of the focal photo & the journaling.  Silver stickers on a black background forms the title.  I used a silver marker for the journaling.

Page #3:

Another soccer page - background paper and brad buddies from the same Soccer Kit as used previously.  The soccer ball in the lower right corner was a foam ball from my stash.  The lower border was a strip of black card stock with some narrow washi tape on it.

Page #4:

The background paper and the patterned matted paper were again from an old HOTP paper pack - as were the cut outs.  The journaling block was framed with a sticker from my stash.  Purple glimmer paper from my stash mats everything.

Page #5:

This page is based on a piece of marbled card stock from my stash.  The patterned paper is an old HOTP paper.  I used washi tape to frame the page, title, and focal.  Red velvet stickers form the title and smaller red stickers form the subtitle.  The star is a brad buddy from HOTP.

Page #6:

This background and most of the papers were from an 8 x 8 paper pack from HOTP.  The title was made with stickers and some of those papers.  The embellishments are brad buddies from HOTP.

Page #7:

The background paper is another 8 x 8 paper from HOTP.  The title was die cut from brown card stock from my stash.  The rest of the cut outs and die cuts were miscellaneous from my stash - also from HOTP.

 Page #8:

This page is different from what I usually do!  The background paper (from a HOTP 8 x 8 paper pad) had all these "strips" of paper as a part of it.  I chose to use my craft knife to cut around some of them so I could slip the photo's largest mat under them before adding the matted photo itself.  The title was die cut from the same paper as the large mat.  Then I added a variety of stickers from my stash.

Page #9:

The tiled part of the background paper is embossed along the "grout lines" - pretty cool.  I added some "water" look paper, shaping the photo as you see here using detail scissors.  The title was velvety stickers and I added another sticker for decoration.  I'll add the journaling later on the lines below the title.  I don't know that I want to add anything else, but reserve the right to change my mind! 😉

Pages 10 & 11:

This double page layout again makes use of materials from the Finished in a Flash Soccer kit from HOTP.  Here's a closer look at each page:

Page #10:

This page was really quick and easy.  It started with the lovely background paper & die cuts from the kit.  As you can see, I double matted the photo with black and green card stock from my stash - then added journaling.  I attached the title with foam tape for added dimension.

Page #11:

To the background paper & die cuts from the kit, this time I added a bit of netting (avocado bag) - a nod to the net in the goal - as well as matting the photo on black as you see.  The "goalie" die cut is on foam tape.

Page #12:

The background paper is actually parts of two papers since the lower part of the original was too "babyish" for an 8th grad page.  To this, I added matted photos and journaling & several cutouts (most from old HOTP kit.

Page #13:

This last page is not particularly exciting from an aesthetic standpoint, but I wanted all 3 pictures on it and already cropped them all I wanted to, so there wasn't much room left for title, journaling, and embellishments.  As you can see, I used a Sharpie marker around the edges instead of matting, Dazzles stickers on a couple of the photos for embellishments, alphabet stickers for titles, and took most of the remaining space for journaling.

 It feels WONDERFUL to get this last page finished!  Other than a few individual pages made some time ago, I've completed 3 albums in 3 months!  A total of 142 pages for these books in the last 3 months - along with two 12 x 12 pages for Thanksgiving, a "squash" book, and 3 multipocket mini scrapbooks for gifts (to say nothing of all the cards I've made in that time).  I'm sure that's some sort of record for me!

Thursday Scrapbook Pages

Today we'll see how many scrapbook pages I can complete.  I only have two days left before guests arrive for Christmas and I'd really like to finish this book before they get here!

Page #1 (above): This first page starts with an AS (adorable scoreable card stock) background from Hunkydory.  To this, I added pictures matted with gold poster board, a piece of coordinating pink paper (where the title - made with stickers from my stash - & journaling are) and lots of hearts - die cuts from my stash, and lots of little punched hearts.

Page #2:

Next up is the page about a spring play.  The papers, including for the border, are from an old HOTP 8 x 8 paper set.  To this I've added white card stock from my stash, a printed vellum piece (no idea where it came from), red velvet sticker letters for the title, and a bunch of punched stars.

Page #3:

The background is from my stash - with holographic pink mat & border strip also from my stash.  Stickers from my stash form the title, the die cut is from my stash, and the banner was made using a stamp/die set of my mother's.  Journaling was done with a fine line marker.

Page #4:

The background is a paper from my stash.  Many of the embellishments are from old HOTP sets, but some are stickers or letters from my stash.

Page #5:

The paper was once again one from my stash - no idea where I got it.  The border at the top was a piece of printed ribbon from my stash, and the title was simply some alphabet stickers.  The stockings are shaped brads from HOTP.

Page #6:

I believe the background paper was from an 8 x 8 paper pack from HOTP.  The rest of the papers were from my stash - as was the card stock used to die cut the title.

Page #7:

The background paper and die cuts were from a HOTP Soccer Finished in a Flash scrapbook kit.  I'm not certain where I got the vellum.  I'm also not certain where the soccer ball embellishment came from.  A scrap of card stock serves as a journaling block.

Page #8:

The background was cut from a paper from my stash - no idea where I got it - with a strip of white card stock from my stash.  I added several stickers and a couple of cut outs from my stash.  I also added a modified brad buddy (from HOTP).  I replaced the red star brads with black round brads to hold the glasses in place, and used paint to transform the black lenses to white.  

Page #9:

This was a pretty simple layout.  The background was just a blue paper from my stash.  I matted the main photo with a holographic pink film from my stash.  The title was made from alphabet stickers.  Jewel Dazzles and Jewel Border Dazzles decorate the page and the brad buddy crown (HOTP).

Page #10:

The background on this one was from a calendar page.  The keyboard border was one I found in my stash.  The title was created with velvety alphabet stickers.  The piano is a Dazzles scrapbooking sticker matted on white paper.

Page #11:

Background paper was an 8 x 8 page from an old HOTP paper pack.  Blue and tan card stock is from my stash.  Title die cut from the blue card stock with some no-name alphabet dies I have.

Page #12:

Most of the elements on this page were from a Soccer Finished in a Flash kit from HOTP - background paper, shaped brads, die cuts.  Black and white card stock were from my stash.

Page #13:

The background paper may have been HOTP, but I'm not sure - it was in my stash.  The "Honor Roll" was a sticker that I stuck to white card stock before adding it to the page.  The other embellishments & card stock were from my stash.

Page #14:

This time I started with a piece of white card stock for my base & cut strips of the red patterned paper (HOTP) to go on either side of a panel of pictures.  Then I added ribbon from my stash as borders on each side.  The title was made from stickers; the embellishments were brad buddies from HOTP.

Page #15:

This page is pretty stark - by design - to reflect the devastation from the fire.  I made the title on the computer and printed it out.
