Birthday Cupcake

I needed a quick birthday card this morning, so turned to a "Shaped Card" Paper Flair set from HOTP.  I didn't get a picture of the actual shaped card, but it looked like the cupcake part in the picture above.

Once that card was on it's way, I started to see what I could do with the remnants, since I've learned it works best to use them all up right away, rather than keeping them in a scrap pile somewhere!  I cut the cupcake I used as the focal for this card from the instructions for the shaped card (since I no longer needed them).

I embossed the card front with a Cuttlebug folder called "Kitchen Weave".  Then added the pattern paper, and border strip to the bottom of the card front.  Then I added the focal and some tags from the set.  I stamped these with stamps from the "Artful Collection" and "Stamp and Punch" stamp sets (HOTP)

Inside:

Here I've added most of the rest of the scraps.  The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Greetings and Labels (HOTP), and cut with a die from Spellbinder's Label's Twenty-Eight. After die cutting, I inked the edges before attaching to the card.

There were a few scraps left over, so I made a tag out of them - as you can see in the picture above.
