A Man and His Dog

Here's a card I made for my brother in law who likes to hike, had a lovely dog companion, and always wears a hat or cap of some kind.

This 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card is much larger than I usually make, but I wanted the whole picture on the front and it was printed REALLY BIG on the paper it came from (Hunkydory's Happiness Is Luxury Card Inserts).  (You'll see that the matching insert - see inside of card below - was much smaller.)  Anyway, the paper was double-sided and the blue border is from the other side of the paper.  After adding focal picture & border to the card front, I added some Dazzles stickers to make a silver border all around.  The greeting was stamped (one of my Mom's stamps) and then heat embossed with Denim colored embossing powder (since it was a glossy surface, I REALLY didn't want the ink to smear!).

Inside:

Inside I used some narrow strips of the same paper I used on the front to form borders, then added the insert strip between them.  The sentiment was stamped (but not embossed as the insert paper is a mat finish) with another of my Mom's stamps.
