I recently purchased all the Woodsy Wonderland sets from Heartfelt Creations and couldn't wait to start playing with them. I purchased them in part because I thought they'd be a great addition to my Stampscapes Scences. I haven't tried that yet, but have used all of the stamps & dies to create some fun pieces to play with and look forward to seeing what I can do with them. Here's my first card using them:
CARD FRONT: I made the entire scene like a card topper cut just a bit smaller than the card base. After it was complete, I added it to the card front with foam tape.
- Background - The background is a piece of sky from one of the 12 x 12 scenes in their paper set. I added green chalk near the bottom - using torn paper to help me form some hills on the right hand side. Then I inked around the entire piece with a dark blue ink.
- Trees & Deer - stamps used for these were from two stamp sets - "Woodsy Treescapes" and "Woodsy Critters". After coloring them with watercolor pencils (and blending with a water brush), I cut them out with the matching dies "Woodsy Landscape" and "Woodsy Critters". I added dimension by bending them a bit and gluing parts of them directly to the card topper & raising other parts with foam tape.
- Sentiment & Finishing - The sentiment was cut from the coordinating paper. It was a bit too yellow for the colors I had chosen for my scene, so I changed the color a bit with some green chalk. The ribbon vine was purchased from Paper Wishes.
INSIDE:
- The inside border was created in much the same way as the card front - but was glued directly to the inside of the card. The word "Thanks" was a tag cut from the coordinating paper. The "With Gratitude" stamp was from a HOTP stamp set called "Tiny Words & Images".
