Purple Birthday

Today's cards finish off the 3 purple papers I've been working with (from an older HOTP set called Paper Pizazz Joy Vintage Papers).  I found I mostly had the large flower pattern left, so you'll see the focus is that.

Card #1 (above):  From the same paper as the background, I fussy cut one of the flowers and matted it on white, adding it with foam tape to add interest to the card.  The border is made from two other papers in the set & white card stock for matting.  The sentiment is also white card stock - stamped with Dusty Concord Distress Ink using a Studio G stamp from the small birthday wishes set.

Inside:

Inside is a bit more of the border paper - and a stamp from Birthday Cheer stamp set (HOTP).

Card #2:

This time I created a focal of sorts by die cutting an oval of flowers from the background paper.  I used a silver Sharpie to help the flowers and sentiment stand out more & to "mat" the focal & border.  The sentiment was die cut from a colored metal sheet - with a die from Spellbinders' Joyous Celebrations Sentiments.

Card #3:

By this time I had only scraps of the papers left, but it felt like there were too many to throw away, so I made this last card - using 1 1/4" squares of paper matted on dark purple.  Once again the greeting was stamped with that Studio G Birthday Wishes stamp.  I added a candle Brad Buddy (HOTP) that I colored with enamel paint (it had been red all over).  The lavender card base is from my stash.

Inside:

Here I simply used more scraps to finish off the inside.
