Of Angels & Kings

Mom got a kit of Debbi Moore's Christmas designs & shared with me.  We worked together cutting out the pieces and I got ONE card made. (Just for the record, she printed everything at about 83% of normal size because many of the originals were designed for European sizes - too large to fit on US letter-sized card stock and/or too large for even a 5.5" x 8.5" card - and we generally prefer to make cards no larger than 5" x 7").

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the star, wise men, and sentiment are all on foam tape for added dimension.  There are multiple sets within the kit, and the greeting did not come in this particular set (though was a part of the kit), but I liked it better with my card than those that did.

I have had the dark blue card base for ages (it's an A2 size) and thought it would be PERFECT for this card.  Then I found this piece of tan card stock in my scraps - great for a mat behind the printed card front.

I was getting ready to post to the message board I frequent when I realized it really didn't fit any of the challenges.  Then I saw the challenge that called for using something that came in a bottle or jar with threaded lid.  That would really be a great addition to my card anyway!  SO, I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the star and the angel's wing.  Here's a picture from before I added the Stickles:

I'm not sure that you can tell the difference that well in the pictures, but in real life it DOES add a nice sparkle.

Inside:

On the inside, I have another angel piece and a sentiment that came with the set, along scraps from the mat that form border strips over the lighter almond colored paper that was added so a personal message could be written.

Update 11/10/21 - today I decided to add a stamped verse on the inside (didn't take a picture, though).  Stamp was from Divinity Designs - a set called Christmas Card Scriptures.
