KCC16 - Set 2

Today I have a second set of 15 cards based on Kendra's Card Challenge (KCC) #16.  This time I finished up my half of the set of papers that I first used for KCC 14 (see them here).  It feels really good to get a set of papers that weren't favorites used up and have pretty cards to show for it!  Here's a picture of all 15 cards:

As you can see, I chose to accent these with turquoise and/or a dark teal for the mats.  Most sentiments are from Sassy's LLC - I'll note if they are not.  Here's a closer look at each:

Card #1:

This card is pretty much straight from the sketch.  I did add the circular matted sentiment to the center of the middle diamond (scalloped circles are cut with a punch).

Card #2:

This time, in addition to adding a circular matted sentiment, I added a little parrot (die cut from Spellbinder's Tropical Friends May 2024 SDOM).  I felt the lower left corner needed a little more to anchor it, so I added three small punched circles.

Card #3:

This time I moved the elements of the original KCC sketch a bit, and then added a matted Happy Birthday (dies from Kat Scrappiness Happy Birthday) with foam tape.  The tucan and branch are also die cut from the Tropical Friends die set.  On the rest of the cards, you'll see several more parrots, branches, and tucans.  I won't call them out each time because you now know where they came from.

Card #4:

This time I used a matted rectangular sentiment (still from Sassy's LLC) along with my parrot & branch.

Card #5:

The heart embellishments were created with a punch (both shapes from the same punch).  The rest you know - Sassy's LLC matted sentiment & tucan/branch from Tropical Friends.

Card #6:

This is pretty much the same as the sketch.  I don't remember if the 3 punched circles in the lower right are shown in the sketch. for the matted sentiment, the scalloped lighter colored mat is made with a punch as before, but the larger darker one is die cut using a die from Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Circles die set.

Card #7:

This time, I added a matted sentiment circle to the upper left corner, and some party embellishments (die cuts from Spellbinders Birthday Wreath Add-ons - with candle from a freebie birthday die I got from Divinity Designs).  The word Celebrate was in my stash.  The heart by the sentiment was left over from the punched hearts I used for card #5.

Card #8:

Here's another with that little tucan.  In addition to the scalloped circle (and inking the printed sentiment) I added a couple more mats.  The dark is like the one on the last card, but the aqua mid-tone was cut using a die from Spellbinders Splendid Circles die set.

Card #9:

This time I moved the flags from the right side to the left side - not sure why, I just liked it better.  The sentiment is die cut using a die from Flourishing Elements - a Gemini die set that came with my machine.

Card #10:

This time I used a die cut sentiment (from Card Making Magic's Thinking of You set of dies).  I also added a strip sentiment (made from a stamp and die my mother has), and some flowers with leaves.  The flowers are from the Tropical Friends set, and the leaves from Spellbinders Perched Birds set of dies from their Tunnel Scapes collection.

Card #11:

I turned this one on its side and added another die cut sentiment (like the last card only not matted).

Card #12:

This is another card that I turned on its side.  I also offset the sentiment - which is matted with two die cut mats (both from Spellbinders - Splendid Circles and Picot Edge Circles).

Card #13:

This time I have a double mat - Spellbinders Picot Edged Circles and Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Circles dies.

Card #14:

I used a Spellbinders cutting die to create the mat for the sentiment (Ribbon Tags Trio Two), and threaded it onto a ribbon border made with three different layered ribbons. The sentiment itself was stamped and die cut using a set my mom has).

Card #15:

For this final card, I decided to use both the tucan and the parrot.  The mats for the sentiment are die cut using Spellbinders (Splendid Circles), and Kat Scrappiness (Double-Stitched Circles) dies.

I really DO like having die cuts made ahead so I can finish my cards more quickly - and I also really like using KCC to use up my 6 x 6 papers!  And of course, Sassy's LLC is GREAT for quick sentiments!
