Just Because Color Me

Today I decided to work on the challenge to use up some of my ColorMe toppers.  I don't think I'll try to do more than this one, but at least I managed one!

The fancy background is a fussy cut ColorMe topper from HOTP.  The bulk was inked with Broken China distress ink (inking done with round foam applicator).  The feather was Peeled Paint distress ink.  The green & yellow on the border was colored in with my Scroll & Brush markers.  The sentiment was first colored with Spun Sugar distress ink, and then the edges done with Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink.  I fussy cut both the background and the sentiment (which I added with foam tape).  The focal was made from two pieces of a Hunkydory Picture Perfect page that a friend gave me.  I cut the bird piece with a Spellbinder's Labels One die, then sliced the top off so it would fit fairly well on the background piece but below the border.  Then I took a piece that had several flowers, fussy cut them, and added them in a collage fashion.

Inside:

To make the border, I took a plain strip of white card stock, drew lines with a fine-line black Sharpie, and then colored it to somewhat match what was on the card front.  After gluing the border in place, I added another piece from the Picture Perfect set - after I rounded the corners.  Then I stamped a sentiment (from Crafter's Companion Compendium - page called With Sympathy).
