2021 Road Trip - Capitol Reef

Once again I have a gate fold layout.  Here's a close up of the first page:

The title strip is from a purchased scrapbook kit - as is the map sticker on the lower left.  The National Park emblem embellishments are taken from the entrance sign, printed the size I wanted & fussy cut.  A couple scrap strips form a bit of a border for the picture of the entrance sign itself.

Page 2:

Once again I made use of pictures of the signs to help label my pictures.  The sticker in the lower right corner is from a purchased scrapbook kit.  For some reason, I liked the look of changing up which edge was scalloped on the border strip.

Close up of each page in the opened layout:

More of the same - using a picture of a sign as a picture descriptor.

I thought the rough boards of this background paper went well with the rustic nature of the subject matter. I found I didn't like the layout, however, until I did several things: 1) used distress ink to ink the paper doily so it wasn't stark white, 2) ditto the picture of the "Transcript" sign, 3) added a bit of a darker scrap behind the sticker in the upper right to help it stand out from the doily.
