Hangin' Out B-Day

Today's cards all come from the same set of papers - a HOTP cardmaker's personal shopper kit.  For this first one, I added some blue vellum with printing on it, and some sequins.  The base card was made from a  piece of card stock - cut to 10" x 8 1/2".  That piece was then cut so I had two pieces - one  10" x 6 1/2" and one 10" x 2".   Each of these was scored in half - and then half of that was scored in half again with the shorter piece flipped so the smaller fold was on the right as you see here:

The sentiment on the inside is hidden until you open the card.  It was stamped using a stamp from "Lacy Things" set (HOTP).

This card was made as a cutaway card.  The focal came with the kit, but is matted using a Spellbinder's die (Fleur de Lis Rectangles).  The back layer of the mat was made by tracing around the outside of the die & fussy cutting it.  The blue on the right was textured by running it through a paper crimper.  When finished, I felt it was pretty plain, so added another blue border strip on the left, along with a scattering of sequins:

Here's what the inside looked like after adding sequins. (The tags were cutouts from the kit.):

Here's the last card from this kit.  It's a "leftover card" using what was left from the kit, and adding a HOTP tag from my stash (which I decorated with scraps from the kit).  You can just barely see the ribbon border that I added - shouldn't have covered up as much of it as I did.

Here's the inside - Stamped sentiment from JustRite's "Celebrating Labels One and Bracket Border One" stamp set.

Here again, the finished card felt pretty plain, so I tried to spruce it up with some sequins and the addition of my last scrap of patterned paper from the set:
