Thank You Challenge Card

This card was made for another WCD challenge on the Paper Wishes Message Board.  The only requirements were that it should have a thankfulness theme and be mostly products from Paper Wishes.

MATERIALS:
METHOD:
  • Card Base: Created side stair step from card base - then cut rectangular hole out of center of left side, & patterned paper that goes on top of it.
  • Focal: On a rectangular piece of vellum stamped flower in 3 layers - adding clear embossing powder on each layer & heat embossing it between layers - sandwich over hole between card base & patterned paper layer. Stamped leaves on vellum - once again heat embossing each layer with clear embossing powder - then fussy cutting them. and adding them as you see. Stamped Sentiment on purple paper glued to card stock for stability - then fussy cut and added it.
  • Back Step - Patterned paper background - Purple paper on white card stock with sentiment stamped in place before adding it to the step. Next, added the border strip (cut from printed "Kindred Spirits" download).
  • Middle Step - patterned paper background, sentiment stamped in place. Flower added with foam tape (cut from printed "Kindred Spirits" download).
  • Finishing - Drew around several Purple Jewel Dazzles with Copper Sharpie (so colors coordinated better than the original silver) before adding to the card.

Thanks Cheryl for visiting my blog. I've had a forced breaking from crafting due to 2 traumatic events in early August. On the 6th, I suffered a heart attack due to a massive blood clot lodged and saddled at the pulmonary artery branches in the heart. It took 2 rounds of TPA to bust up the clot enough to get blood pressure more balanced and several days on heparin and then started on Coumadin before switching to Eliquis. Before I was released from the hospital on the 14th, our home experienced a fire on the 13th that destroyed about 40% of west end. So instead of recuperating at home I stayed at my mom's about 7 miles away for about 4 weeks. My husband made a man cave in the garage. He was afraid that someone might loot. Our ins co has us in a rental, but we've only started replacing a few items at this point since we don't want to have to move stuff twice. I lost at least $200 in craft supplies and 8 Christmas cards I had already made in July...God spared our lives so we are grateful and humbled.
