Shaker Card

This card was in response to a timed challenge on the Paper Wishes Message Board.  The challenge was to make a "shaker" card.  With all the cards I've made, I'd still never made one of these before, but didn't want to wimp out on the challenge.  This was the result, and here's how I made it:
  1. Cut and embossed white piece with one of the dies from the "Marvelous Squares" set of dies from Spellbinders, and matted it on a piece of dark blue glimmer paper which I attached to the front of the card.
  2. Using 3-d foam squares, I placed them side by side around the inside of the white border, sprinkled some birthday confetti inside, and then attached a piece of acetate for the front.  I framed the acetate with another cut-out frame made with blue glimmer paper and the Marvelous Squares die set.
  3. Another piece of blue glimmer paper, stamped with opaque white ink forms the sentiment.
I managed to make it in time to meet the challenge!  Now that I'm not racing the clock, I can take the idea and try a variety of other cards using this technique.

I can see that I made that challenge much more difficult that it really was. I didn't manage to finish that one, but I may try it again when i have more time - and I will be able to follow your steps for better results I'm sure !
