More London and Chunnel

Here I have more pages from London & our trip to mainland Europe via the Chunnel.

Page #1 (above): Once again, title, subtitles and journaling pieces were printed along with the pictures using Microsoft Word.  An old patterned paper from HOTPforms the background.  A post card from Westminster is in a pocket and can be pulled out via the little black pull tab near the top of the page.

Page #2:

Once again, the background paper is an old HOTP paper - with printed title, subtitles, journaling, and pictures.

Dual Page Layout:

Page #3:

I printed the title on the largest picture - and also printed other pictures and journaling blocks.  These were glued to a black piece of paper (actually pieced from two 8 1/2 x 11" pages) which was, in turn, glued to the decorative background paper from my stash.  The decorations are die cut from gold poster board (Spellbinders Persian Accents cutting die) and red Jewel Dazzles.

Page #4:

Similarly, I added pictures, subtitles, and journaling block to the center black block on this coordinating page.  I again added die cut decorations (another die from Spellbinders Persian Accents) and Jewel Dazzles - gold ones this time. This time, I also added a gold border around the edge of the black mat.

Page #5:

Once again I had a large number of pictures that I wanted to put on this page - flowers, birds, vistas.  I printed them up fairly small, printed the title on the largest one, and printed a journaling block.  After arranging them all & gluing them in place, I added a few butterfly Dazzles.

Page #6:

This page was challenging to lay out with a variety of pictures, title and journaling blocks, a map, and tickets.  When I finally got them laid out in a way that worked, there was a bit of a hole on the right hand side.  I found a sticker in my stash that filled the hole nicely.

Tower Bridge

Here's a page about our tour of the Tower Bridge.  It's pretty straight forward - the main "special feature" is that the tickets are tucked into a pocket behind the page - sticking out from behind the small center picture at the top of the page.  The title is a picture of a plaque on the bridge itself.  In addition to printing the pictures, I also printed journaling blocks.  The lower section of the page is a strip of darker patterned paper with white Dazzles border stickers above and below.

Buckingham Palace

Today I have scrapbook pages about our tour of Buckingham Palace.  Some of them are pretty straight forward - others were more challenging to create.

Page #1 (above): This page was pretty straight forward.  It started with an old decorative paper from HOTP.  As you can see, in addition to printing the pictures & map, I also printed a title.  After gluing all in place, I added some decorative stickers from my stash.

Page #2:

Once again, in addition to printing the pictures, I printed the title and journaling box.  In the center is a brad buddy from HOTP (I used a gold Sharpie to add some color).

Page #3:

This page was challenging.  We had not been allowed to take pictures in the state rooms, so I purchased some post cards showing what we saw.  Because I wanted to use more than I had room for on the page, I wanted to create a waterfall of some of them.  So, I spent some time trying to figure out how to make it work with a scrapbook page protector.  I started by gluing two of the post cards on the right side of the scrapbook page, and the title (cut from red suede paper).

I used a fuse tool to encase four of the post cards in plastic - leaving a 3/8" lip at the top of each. After careful calculations, I cut slits through the sheet protector, through which I could glue the narrow flaps - using a double-sided tape with protector paper on it until I was ready to remove it.  The next page shows what it looks like with the first waterfall flap opened.

Behind the last flap is a vellum envelope holding the tickets.  I forgot to add it until I had the waterfall in place, but the lowest slit allowed me to slip it into place, using the same type of adhesive.

Page 4:

This one is pretty straight forward - printed title, journaling, & labels combine with the printed photos to complete this layout that was laid out on gold marbled hand-made paper.  A sticker guard completes the layout.

Page #5:

This page is again pretty straight forward.  In addition to the pictures, I again printed the title and the journaling.  I chose a small print green page for a background and adhered the various elements.  As you can see, I fussy cut the picture of my teddy bear.

London Eye Dual Page Spread

Here's a dual page spread of our experience on the London Eye - and a close up of each page below.  Note that as I printed the pictures, I also printed the journaling blocks and added the title to the largest picture.

Page #1:

After choosing the sky patterned background papers, laying out my pictures and journaling, and creating the vellum envelope that holds our tickets (behind the picture on the lower right), I tried to figure out what I could add to make the page more interesting.  As you can see, I decided to mat the large picture on black paper.  Added a wide gold-edged black ribbon coming down either side of that to frame the envelope & picture, and added a couple of stickers from my stash.

Page #2:

It was a little harder to dress this page up - didn't really have room for any of the embellishments that I considered.  SO, I just created a little double mat grouping for one set of pictures and called it good.
