HD Floral Favourites - Peony Postcard

Today I have a set of 7 cards made from a Hunkydory set called "Peony Postcard" from the kit called  "Floral Favourites (see picture above) along with various items from my stash.  I actually only have 1/2 the kit - as there were two of everything (Mom got the kit & shared half with me). You can see all 7 of the Peony Postcard cards below:

Here they are up close:

Card #1:

The gold frame & mat are poster board from my stash cut with cutting dies (5x7 Matting Basics & Captivating Squares - both from Spellbinders). A pink paper from my stash was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (Kitchen Weave).  The rest is from the set.

Inside:

In addition to elements from the set, I added narrow strips of the gold poster board & a cut & embossed leaf from my stash.

Card #2:

This one is pretty simple - focal & border from the set is combined with a HD greeting from one of their little book of essential sentiments - and a bit of ribbon from my stash.

Inside:

Here I pieced together several scraps from the set to make a border - and added a little die cut.

Card #3:

Gold poster board frame & border strip combine with green mat & border strip to enhance this panel from the AS (Adorable Scoreable Card stock) from the set.  The sentiment is also from the set.

Inside:

Another piece of gold poster board & a strip of green ribbon form the backdrop for the sentiment (from the set) on the inside of the card.

Card #4:

Here I added a narrow scrap to the top of the cut panel of AS to create the backdrop for the peony die cuts (from the set) and die cut/embossed leaves (from my stash).  The sentiment is also from the set.

Inside:

Inside is a border strip & peony die cut - along with a scrap for the lower border (all from the set) - finished with a small cut/embossed leaf from my stash.

Card #5:

Here the background is a piece from a wallpaper book - with a strip of green suede paper from my stash.  The peony die cut (from the set) is combined with die cut leaves (double-sided peony die from Gemini/Crafter's Companion) and a small sentiment from an HD small essential sentiments book.

Inside:

Inside is a piece of cream colored paper from my stash - along with narrow border strips of the green suede paper.  The sentiment & peony from the set, along with more die cut leaves, finish it off.

Card #6:

Here I've once again taken a panel of the AS and added a strip of scrap from it to make the background for the die cuts that complete the card front.

Inside:

A border strip from the set was cut in two to form the top & bottom borders.  A tiny peony die cut completes it.

Card #7:

Here we have an A2 sized card.  The card front was embossed with a folder from HOTP called Lacy Border A2.  Then I just added die cuts from the set.

Inside:

Inside I have a small piece of coordinating paper on a gold poster board mat that was die cut using a Spellbinders die from the set called Romantic Rectangles Two.

Since I have previously made cards from other sets in this kit (see HD Floral Favorites-Heartfelt Wishes), this makes a total of 23 cards so far from this my 1/2 of the Floral Favourites kit.

Mouse Birthday Card

I needed a quick card for a cousin who loves animals - even mice.  I don't remember where I got the printed/foiled die cuts - I think my Mom may have given them to me, but I may have gotten them as a freebie in a paper crafting magazine.  Regardless, The focal, greeting, and mouse on the inside all came from that set.

For the card front, I found a green card stock in my scrap pile that I thought would work, grabbed a piece of gold poster board & cut a mat for it, cut a circle out of it to use on the inside (circle die from Lifestyle), and found a couple more scraps to use for the border.  Quick & easy.

Inside:

I used more of the border on the inside, and another scrap of brown for a 2nd mat to go with the green (Lifestyle circle dies again).  The cream is actually a mat/background for the mouse since it didn't come with a background (Yup - circle die again).  To add a bit of interest, I decided to offset the mats at the top.

HD Lilac Moments - Where Flowers Bloom

Today's cards come from a Hunkydory Kit called Lilac Moments - from the set "Where Flowers Bloom" (see picture above).  Here's a picture of the 6 cards I made from the set:

Card #1:

This first is an A2 card.  I had some purple mirri board (from HD) that I thought went pretty well with it, so die cut a piece for the background (this is really the center of a mat piece on a card I'll show you soon.  The focal and sentiment are from the set.

Inside:

The border strip is actually a scrap leftover from the die cut sheet - with a small sentiment from the set.

Card #2:

Next is a thank you card made with elements from the watering can AS.  I die cut the watering can with a basic circle die, and die cut a mat from pink card stock.  (I actually cut out the center of the mat and used it on the inside of the card.)  I cut the corners off the AS sheet.  The first corner went in the upper right as is.  The 2nd one I cut into into pieces and glued one small piece to the lower left corner.  The sentiment is a stamp from one of Mom's stamp sets - stamped on a strip of the AS (if you look closely you can see the lines from the "wood").  I put the sentiment on foam tape.

Inside:

As you can see, I put part of the corner from the AS in the lower left.  The left-over pink circle forms the mat for another circle cut from the AS and stamped with a stamp from a HOTP set called "Thank You!"  The butterfly was a sticker from my stash.

Card #3:

Here I've used a couple of large oval frames from the set - cutting one apart and arranging it as you see here.  This forms a great place to put the tiny sentiment from the set - matted twice (once with a die cut from the AS using a Spellbinder's die called "Splendid Circles" and once with a piece of purple mirri that was cut with a basic circle die.  The butterflies were from my stash.  Their "trails" were innies from some border stickers.

Inside:

Once again I used a die cut border from the set - this time a large circle.  Inside of this I stamped a sentiment using one of my Mom's stamps, and then added a tiny butterfly die cut from the set.

Card #4:

I REALLY like the way this first one turned out!  The card front is simply a border piece of the AS.  I cut a narrow strip from the right and attached it to the left, giving a more finished look.  This is matted on some purple Mirri card stock.  Before adding my focal panel, I ran a couple of ribbons around it about 1/3 up from the bottom to form a border.  My greeting die cut (from the set) completes the card front.

Inside:

Inside I created cut two borders from the included border strip & added a small die cut.  The stamp is from a HOTP set called Birthday Cheer.

Card #5:

Next up is a sympathy card.  In order to make the AS fit the card front, I sliced off a piece, inserted a misc piece of AS I had, and covered it with a wide purple ribbon that came on a Christmas gift.  I then added a more narrow turquoise ribbon & the die cut focal.  I finished the card front with a die cut - purple mirri cut with a greeting die from HD (Moonstone Snippables, Floral Favorites, Lily).

Inside:

The border inside is basically just a narrow piece of what was used on the card front - and a butterfly from my stash.  The stamp is from a HOTP set called Heartfelt Greetings.

Card #6:

This final card started with a piece of AS that was once again not quite as wide as I wanted.  This time, I cut a wider piece from the border on the left to create a border on the right.  I added strips of purple mirri, and then inked the edges before adding it to the card front.  Then I simply added a die cut from the set & a greeting that I cut from a Debbi Moore download (no idea which one).

Inside:

The borders are from scraps of the die cut sheet.  The stamp is from a HOTP stamp set called Birthday Greetings.
