Set Aside but Not Forgotten

Today I FINALLY got around to finishing several scrapbook pages that I started over 8 years ago!  I've removed the personal journaling from the picture, but you can see the main idea of the page.  I loved the quote from Helen Keller about doors (top of the page) and used it to think about open & closed doors in my own life.

I had really had a challenge figuring out how to make this page, but I like how it turned out.  I cut flaps in the background card stock and then glued it to a backing sheet that had the inside pictures on it.  Then I added cutouts using a Spellbinder's die (Edwardian Door) and little brads for door knobs. Title was cut using alphabet dies.

Here's what it looks like with the "doors" opened:

I used a standard labeler to document who was in the pictures.

Here is the companion page:

I once again used the Edwardian door die - this time using it more as it was intended & backing it with paper.  I also cut words out of several different dies I have (HOTP, Divinity Designs, Art Impressions, misc)

The last page is about my grandmother & her shoes that I inherited (journaling is hidden behind the picture of the shoes - magnetic closure used):

Used corner punch on the mats before adding the pictures.

Love both these pages Cheryl - cool idea with the doors, and I *LOVE* hidden journaling!
