4 Rectangle Challenge

Today's card was made in response to the sketch challenge posted on the PWMB.  I decided to make a gate-fold card.

Card Front:
  • Background: I started with a page from "Awsome Blossoms for Colorists" by HOTP.  I colored it with some Spectrum Noir pens.  After I colored the large rectangular design, I cut it in quarters and matted each on a piece of white card stock where the card stock only extended past the edge of each quarter piece on the two inside edges. I then used a ruler and black fine-line Sharpie pen to add borders on the inside edges to match the borders on the outside edges.  I added each panel to the card base with adhesive foam squares for extra dimension.
  • Focal: I stamped and heat-embossed the design (JustRite's "Grateful Heart Vintage Labels Two") using silver embossing powder & then colored part of it with the Spectrum Noir pens to coordinate with the background.  I fussy cut around the embossed edge.  This was matted onto a decorative silver circle cut from poster board with a die from Spellbinders "Tear Drop Circles" using adhesive foam squares.  The focal was then attached to just ONE side of the front of the gate-fold card.
Inside:
  • Background: Pink salt paper from HOTP matted with black card stock
  • Message area: White card stock cut with a die from Spellbinders "Lattice Rectangles" and decorated with some Dazzles (purple dragonfly & pink flower jewel).
