Stamping and Chalks 1 - Basics

For the next 3 Saturdays, we'll look at a technique that was a given as a challenge on the Paper Wishes Message Board.  The challenge involved stamping with white pigment ink on dark paper and then coloring it with chalk and/or other media.  It's a fun technique, but I discovered sometimes I liked the plain white with NO color added as in the case of this card. (Next week I'll post an example of coloring on the stamped image.) This card also made big use of my Big Shot.

The red background paper is from the Classic Card set from Paper Wishes.  The white layer on top of that was embossed with an embossing folder and then layered with red lattice cut with a die from Cheery Lynn.  Then there's a red mat cut with a scalloped rectangle die, a white mat cut to size with corners rounded with a punch. The "Love" was a 99 cent stamp from Hot Off the Press which was stamped in white pigment ink on the red. After it dried, I cut it out with my Fleur de Lis rectangle die.

At the bottom, the border is cut and embossed with some edgeabilities dies from spellbinders.  A red ribbon and bow finishes off this card.
